And honestly, I really don't care which. It's more tedious than it's worth to me to try to bother to understand your true motivations if you don't make them clear.
Moving on from that, Carr made a fairly anodyne statement about questioning assumptions and got jumped on well out of proportion like he was attacking the very foundations of Western civilization, including in graphically racist ways.
If you want to try separate out racism from the "rationalist" response to Carr, fine, but the lack of proportionality is also a common bad faith rhetorical trick intended to make the other side expend time and energy deconstructing the response to get to an actual real point. That's not a game I'm going to play. If you're going to play "intellectual" on the Internet, argue in genuine good faith, carefully and with precision, supporting your arguments with concrete evidence and citations. Otherwise have a lovely rest of your life.
