This is a good read, but I think misses the point that Chomsky has understood but never wanted to acknowledge that it simply comes down to power. Our side has to be able to enforce its will on all comers; however the power is constructed. It might be moral, but could be militaristic, but you have tp have enough "juice" to make your way prevail. Genuinely participatory government has never been in style.
Nothing is self-evident. In our democracies, our structures of democratic voices MUST be stronger than those seeking to tear it down. Truly representative democracy goes against the grain of entire human history.
