They are what I call tribalist Christians. It's simply about which team they're on, not about trying to live their lives according to Christ's example. That said, I don't really care how people choose to live their own lives. Hypocrisy bothers me, as does attempts to dictate morality to others.

People who claim, for example, homosexuality is a sin on the basis of it being "against the Bible" are setting themselves up as hypocritical if they try to pick and choose what other "rules" they follow. 25% of all Catholics in America are divorced, for example. And as we've discussed, divorce is something Jesus Himself directly spoke about. WIthout internal consistency, moral authority is lost. Why the hell should I listen to you (generic) when you (generic) won't even follow your own rulebook?
