I don’t expect to make any money from my poetry, but I am still doing what I can to get it out in front of readers. Not just on Medium, but also on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I try not to be spammy, but otherwise I treat it as a bit of a game to see what what seems to work.

For those of you actually trying to make money from your writing, I absolutely don’t think you should be ashamed in the slightest at the marketing and self-publicizing you need to do to build your audience.
