I am a well-practiced user of “fuck.” Sure, there are all kinds of imaginative words that could substitute, but they are substituting and don’t quite have the emphasis of a well-placed “fuck!”

I do agree with you, however, about context and audience, and have become a bit more sensitive to time and place.
