Great article, Zach.

I too will be here plugging away as long as Medium will let me. Like you, I’ve tried blogging on various platforms and I prefer Medium for all the reasons you articulate. I write poetry pretty much exclusively, so I have *zero* expectations of making any money from Medium, and it is all but meaningless to me if I get curated. No complaints, however. I keep most of my poetry behind the payroll as a kind of game with myself to see if I can earn enough to cover my monthly subscription. Also because I remember listening to a recording of Robert Frost talking about why he didn’t do unpaid readings. What we do has value, albeit for me nothing more than pennies. But I will treat my work as having tangible value. Let’s call it a mindset.
