Gillum no longer has a political career. Maybe that will be liberating for him. But if he wants to have some sort of public identity, hopefully it can come from the place of his truth — whatever that is.
As someone who has been face down on the floor in his own vomit, more than once, but is now sober, I can attest to the fact that this particular addiction can lead you to taking objectively insane risks. Sobriety is a process. I wish him the best
