And another issue I don't want to get bogged down in, but certainly would fall under the rubric of "recognizing the reality" would be abortion. Simply making it illegal is not going to make the practice go away, but creating the conditions so women feel supported and don't feel the need to abort would.

I'm not saying or trying to imply you (specific) are doing this, but you (generic) mouthing pieties without putting practical action behind the words doesn't mean very much.
